ZESTY MEXICAN SOUP This is a super easy, deliciou

ZESTY MEXICAN SOUP

This is a super easy, delicious soup that can easily be made vegetarian by substituting vegetable broth and adding more beans in place of the chicken. -1 medium sweet onion, chopped
-4 large cloves of garlic, chopped
-1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pkg ground chicken -32 oz chicken broth
-16oz jar chunky salsa
-1 can black beans, drained/rinsed -1 small can of corn, drained -1 small jar roasted red peppers, drained and chopped
-1 Tablespoon chili powder -1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
-1 teaspoon dried cilantro or chopped fresh to taste
-salt and pepper to taste

Place olive oil, onion and garlic in large pot. Sauté over medium-low heat until translucent. Add ground chicken and cook while breaking up into small pieces.
Reduce heat to low. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Cook for about 15 minutes to allow flavors to combine.
Spice amounts can easily be adjusted to taste. ENJOY 😋

Feeling BORED YET?!? Here is something you can do at home...a very functional exercise that can be done without weight (best option to start), a light dumbbell or kettlebell (traditional method). It makes a great warmup or core/mobility drill.
Some KEY POINTS:
✅Keep shoulder down and lat engaged on side holding weight ✅Torso remains tall & elongated- not a “crunch” movement ✅Learn proper movements before adding weight or progressing through sequence ✅Make sure to practice both sides!

It’s that time of year 🍁 PUMPKIN SPICE OATMEA

It’s that time of year 🍁
PUMPKIN SPICE OATMEAL
1 whole egg
1/3 c liquid egg or 2 whites
1/2c plain pumpkin
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
4-6 drops liquid stevia (or other sweetener to taste)
1/2c old fashioned oatmeal
1 Tablespoon chia seeds
Beat eggs, pumpkin, spice and sweetener together in bowl. Mix in oatmeal. Microwave 3 minutes, stir and microwave additional 2-3 min.
Stir in chia seeds and ENJOY 😋

Carbs: 41g
Protein: 30g
Fat: 12g

I will not reveal Bernadette's age, but you would be very impressed!!! She has been weight training for a few years and has a good foundation of strength. For a few months we have focused on her doing assisted chin-ups using the machine and then progressed to a band. Now we will work to get more reps and then move on to the Pull-up (overhand grip). It is never too late to get STRONG! 💪😅
